Pile Rigid Box Seals provide a traditional, robust solution for sealing timber fire door edges and frames, combining fire resistance, smoke control, and acoustic performance in one neat, rebated seal. With a rigid box carrier and pile element, they suit both modern specifications and wider, more traditional door detailing—making them a strong choice for new-build fire door installations and high-quality refurb work.
Supplied in 2.1m lengths with a self-adhesive backing, these seals are quick to fit with no special tools required (beyond the correct routing/grooving). They’re designed for rebates in either the door leaf or the frame, and are suitable for single or double doors, single and double action doors, and latched or unlatched configurations—when installed in accordance with the relevant doorset test evidence.

Installation overview (best practice)

Select the correct seal size using the door’s test evidence, which identifies the required intumescent/smoke seal specification for that doorset.

Position the seal centrally in the door leaf or frame rebate (as specified).

Rout a groove to suit the chosen seal size. Clean the rebate thoroughly to remove dust.

Peel the liner from the self-adhesive backing and push-fit into the groove.

For best adhesion, apply to clean, dry surfaces at 5°C to 40°C.
